NJ STEM Pathways Youth Initiative

Overview

I founded the NJ STEM Pathways Youth Initiative to address the lack of mentorship and real-world experience available to under-resourced high school students pursuing science and technology. Partnering with educators, community leaders, and local organizations, the initiative builds statewide programs that connect students to hands-on research, professional mentorship, and industry collaborations.

Each pillar works together to give students a comprehensive, hands-on STEM experience that emphasizes leadership and innovation.

My Contributions

  • Designed and launched the statewide program structure, recruitment framework, and leadership council.
  • Built partnerships with schools and local organizations to host workshops and mentorship sessions.
  • Developed training resources and outreach materials to help new chapters launch independently.

The initiative now reaches schools and educators across New Jersey, equipping students with mentorship, technical experience, and leadership opportunities that prepare them for competitive STEM careers. It has become a model for how youth-led programs can strengthen the state’s STEM ecosystem by connecting students directly to research and industry.

Reflection

Building the NJ STEM Pathways Youth Initiative taught me how lasting impact begins with access. By turning isolated opportunities into a structured network of mentorship and experience, I learned how leadership is not just about personal achievement but about creating systems that allow others to thrive.
