EMT Cadet

Overview

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad, I respond to 911 calls involving medical and trauma emergencies across the community. Working alongside seasoned EMTs and paramedics, I provide pre-hospital care, stabilize patients, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities. The role demands both composure under pressure and rapid clinical decision-making in unpredictable environments.

Service Focus

The EMS program provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, allowing volunteers to apply anatomy, physiology, and clinical judgment in real time. Through routine shifts and high-stress calls, I learned how to manage airway support, vital signs, bleeding control, and patient communication under acute stress. The work bridges medical science with human empathy, where each decision directly affects an outcome.
